Jimenez Julien, the person behind FitRoomLog

I publish FitRoomLog, I answer the demo requests myself, and I am the one who picks up the phone when a restock alert does not fire on a Saturday morning.

Why I built a fit history tool

I did not come to lingerie retail through fashion. I came to it through a spreadsheet. A boutique owner in the northeast asked me to help her recover a customer list after a laptop failed, and while I was reconstructing what could be reconstructed, she showed me the thing that actually ran her shop: a stack of notebooks, one per year, in which she had recorded the band, the cup, the brand, the cut and the verdict for every woman she had fitted since 2009. Nine hundred and some names. It was the most valuable business asset I had ever been handed, and it existed in one copy, in one handwriting.

What struck me was not the fragility. It was how specific the knowledge was. The notes were not sizes, they were judgments: this label runs shallow on her, she will not wear a moulded cup, the strap slipped on the left because of an old shoulder injury, she buys in March and again in October. No general purpose retail software had anywhere sensible to put that. Point of sale systems record what left the shop, not what fit the person. Loyalty tools record spend. Neither of them helps the fitter who takes the appointment when the owner is away for a week.

So I built the smallest thing that could hold that knowledge honestly. FitRoomLog started as a single screen: a customer, her sizes by brand, her notes, her purchases, and a flag for what she is waiting for. That first version went into two shops in 2023. Almost everything since has come from arguments with fitters about what belongs on that screen and what does not. They threw out my forms. They told me a dropdown for cup shape was useless if it did not include the three words they actually use. They were right every time.

What I learned about this trade is that the fitting itself cannot be systematized and should not be. A good fitter reads a body faster and better than any measurement rule, and the shops that thrive are the ones where that skill is respected and paid for. Software has no business in that part of the work. Where it does help is everything around the twenty minutes behind the curtain: the memory across years, the delivery that arrived while the customer who wanted it was at work, the follow up nobody had time to write, the second shop that cannot see what the first one knows.

I work with owners the way I would want a supplier to work with me. I ask to spend a Saturday on the floor before I change anything significant. I do not ship a feature because three shops asked for it if it would slow down the counter for the other hundred and eighty. When a boutique cancels, I ask why and I write the answer down. I am accountable for the uptime of the service, for the safety of your customer records, for answering support mail within one business day, and for telling you plainly when something I have built does not do what you hoped it would.

Experience and expertise

  • Fifteen years building software for small operators, most of it for businesses with fewer than twenty staff and no technical team on site.
  • Field research in thirty one independent lingerie and bra fitting boutiques across the United States, including full trading days spent behind the counter.
  • Direct responsibility for FitRoomLog product design, data protection practice, customer support and billing.
  • Working knowledge of retail point of sale integrations, including Square, Lightspeed Retail and Shopify POS.
  • Ongoing work with fitters serving post surgery, maternity and deep size range customers, where record keeping carries real emotional weight.

How this product is built and maintained

FitRoomLog ships small changes often rather than large ones rarely. Every change that touches the fitting card is tested with at least three working boutiques before it reaches everyone, and anything that adds a step at the counter has to remove one somewhere else. Release notes are written in plain language and sent to owners by email, not buried inside the app where nobody reads them.

On the editorial side, every claim on this site is one I can support. The statistics quoted come from anonymized platform usage and from figures boutiques shared with permission. The testimonials are from real customers who read and approved their own words before publication. If a number changes, I change it here. Customer records are encrypted in transit and at rest, hosted in the United States, exportable in full at any moment, and never shared with brands, vendors or advertisers.
